Kargil IFF received films for 58 countries, out of which 74 films were from India, 30 films from Islamic Republic of Iran, 27 films from Spain, 24 films from United States of America, 19 films from Russian Federation, 12 films from Italy, 11 films from Canada, 10 Films respectively from United Kingdom & France and many more.
Some films were disqualified for the following reasons:-
*Films must have been completed after Jan. 1, 2016.
*All non-English films must have English subtitles.
*A Director can submit only one film.
*Films submitted to Kargil International Film Festival must never have been broadcasted publicly (on the Internet or television).
Based on the above rules and regulation 71 entries were disqualified. As per the reviewing committee it seems some disqualified entries were genuinely good.
